Desolation Part Deux
After a few nights in Pendrell Sound we headed for Squirrel Cove to provision, then to Tenedos "appendix" to do more of the same.
This is one of my favorite anchorages, along with Pendrell Sound.
Warm water, good friends. Recipe for relaxation.
Desolation 2011
Finally getting around to some photos in an evening of insomnia.
Left work at noon on Thursday, underway at 12:50 and rumbled up the Strait of Georgia in zero wind, 2 foot chop at Halibut Bank. 6 hours to Westview where we caught the gas attendant for fuel and water before they closed at 7. As you know these guys are totally nice and have the least expensive fuel on the Sunshine Coast.
An hour later on the hook near Well Adjusted in the north bay of Savary Island outside of Lund. Cocktail hour and then a lumpy sleep as the NW wind built overnight, but it brought the good weather.
The morning we hit Rendezvous Islands for some dry-wet-dry procurement, then caught the 3:30 slack at Hole in the Wall into Octopus Islands Marine Park where we met O'Bennannas the Holsteins and O'Keefes and their kids. Crabbing, etc... We neglected to hit the cabin to drop a talisman, I guess we must return!
Then underway on Saturday for Pendrell Sound where the eventual five boat raft up was Thunda, O'Benannas, Well Adjusted, Clarissa and Mental Floss. Prawns, oysters, injure tubing, movie night, the full meal deal.
